Mike McQuaid
Mike McQuaid is a Seattle public affairs executive and civic leader. Mike serves as the South Lake Union Community Council transportation chair and is a past president of the organization. He also serves on the City of Seattle’s community advisory group for the development of The New Arena at Seattle Center and was previously a mayoral appointee to the Seattle Sister Cities Coordinating Council.
A former Amazon.com employee, Mike has more than 30 years of business, media and public affairs experience. His professional and civic work includes supporting public and private-sector cooperation advancing policy and programs in transportation, economic development, tourism, sports, housing, urban planning, international relations and the maritime industry. In 2016 and 2017, Mike was nominated by community leaders for the South Lake Union Chamber Changemaker of the Year award.
Mike is a fourth-generation Seattleite and graduate of Washington State University. He is an avid triathlete competing at the Olympic and Ironman distances, a national champion rower and former collegiate coach. As a competitive sailor, Mike was a member of the winning crew at the 1998 Swiftsure International Yacht Race.
